A mayor of a region has control over the happenings of that region. A mayor can be a personal region mayor or a communal mayor. A player can only be mayor of ONE personal region and ONE community region. Player cannot have two personal regions and cannot have two community regions. There are specific differences for both types of mayors. Please read through this entire post to understand the mayorships better.

Before you apply, please make sure your region pole is claimed by you, the mayor. Otherwise, we have no way of proving who was there first. The pole must be claimed whether you apply for personal or community region mayorship.

NEW! (07/Oct/2018): REGIONS MUST BE DEVELOPED A BIT BEFORE YOU CAN CLAIM IT AS MAYOR. We want to see that players are investing their time into the region and that the region is not being taken up by a player who will quit playing after their first week. We want to see signs of living there. Buildings are a great way to give us an idea of your investment into that region.

Personal Region Mayor
A personal region is a region meant to be inhabited only by the mayor. The mayor can use the trust system in GriefPrevention to allow access to other players, but other players cannot make their own claims in the personal region. This makes the personal region difficult to manage with a community. Likewise, we cannot make a region a personal region if it was previously a community region. Even if not acknowledged as a community region, any claims in the region that is not the mayor's claims makes it qualify as a communal region. Please make sure all claims within are the mayor's claims only.
When a player applies to be a mayor as a personal region mayor, a senior will claim the entirety of the region in the mayor's name. This may effectively put the mayor in claim debt. A region is 400x400 blocks, which means you need 160,000 claimblocks to claim the entire region. You gain 100 claimblocks on your account for each hour actively played. This means that to be in the positive, you will need to have played a minimum of 1,600 hours to be in the positive. You cannot make any more claims if you are in claim debt until you are out of claim debt.

Communal Region Mayor
A communal region is a region meant to be inhabited by a group of players. The land is kept open for other players to come and settle in and create their own claims. This makes it impossible to turn a communal region into a personal region.
When a player applies to be a mayor as a communal region mayor, a senior will check to see if there are builds enough to deem the area worthy of being used as a communal region. Mayors of communal regions will be able to apply for an eviction of members of their community. The process is for them to leave signs at the build of the evictee and with non-compliance of a week, can apply via forum to evict the player by force via seniors. Communal region residents may NOT mine in the region and MUST use the Resource World to gather resources including the mayor. Overworld farms do not apply.

HOW TO APPLY:

If you are applying to be a Personal Region Mayor, your subject should read: "Llamas for YOURUSERNAME"
In the body of your topic, please include how many claimblocks you have and approximately how long you've been on the server (as of 1.13). You can check how many claimblocks you have with /claimslist
We will also need the name of your region. If wilderness, please let us know your coordinates and if you have purchased a voucher. Voucher recipients will still need to apply via Region Naming. If no voucher, we can name the region generically for you if you so choose.
